This position is taken from a game I played recently. There was no appropriate choice for the tactic used in this problem, so I did not select one.

Karl, 2. ... Qxe2 is the solution. The Tactic is like an Xray attack threatening mate. After Qxe2 White has lost a rook and can do nothing about it. If you can not see all the threats of the tactic, perhaps this helps. If white takes Black's queen 3. Rxe2 Then the game is over 3. ... Rc1++ back rank mate. White has 2 possible replies, both of which do not make up for the lost material. 3. Qf1 - Which is bad because black just trades queens with 3. ... Qxf1 immediately and has a winning end game or 3. Rb1 - Which cramps white's position, gives black a tempo and does nothing to recoup the loss of the Rook. White has no checks nor can he defend the remaining rook without losing the queen. In short, white loses a rook with no compensation. Cheers, Adam
